I am U is a nonprofit organization that unites alumni, students, and universities to create a unique platform where shared experiences and life-earned lessons combine with academic knowledge to help students shape their future with clarity, confidence, and purpose. It transforms schools from time-limited, linear institutions into lifelong, self-sustaining cycles of human experience, where multi-generational wisdom, lived insight, and present-day context come together to forge a better future from every past.

For Students,

I am U offers students a chance to learn from those who have already lived the life they are just beginning to imagine. Through in-person Life Studios (alumni-led lectures) and personalized online chat sessions with their Trusted Guides Circle, students engage with alumni who have walked the very path they are now considering. These Guides offer clarity, context, and insight to help students prepare for what lies ahead and make more confident choices along the way.

This is not just mentorship. I am U gives students a way to explore and compare multiple versions of their future selves—paths shaped by real lives, real decisions, and real outcomes. These perspectives offer a window into how different priorities and choices play out over time. Instead of following a single example, students can draw from the best parts of many lived experiences to shape a direction that aligns with their evolving goals and values. And because this happens while they are still in school, they have the freedom to shift majors, refine plans, or completely reimagine their future before those decisions become harder to change.
